Boronic Acid Intermediates
The last 20 years have revealed boronic acids to be a particularly attractive class of synthetic intermediates. Their stability to air and moisture, not to mention their relatively low toxicity give them a distinct advantage over most organometallic derivatives (Grignard, organolithium, and the like).

The work of Suzuki and Miyaura brought particular attention to these compounds when they discovered that aryl boronic acids undergo a cross-coupling with aryl halides in the presence of a base and a palladium catalyst. The “Suzuki coupling”, as it has come to be known, blazed a trail for the relatively easy synthesis of unsymmetrical biaryls and related compounds. It also lowered the environmental impact of the work as boronic acid leaving groups ultimately break down into environmentally friendly boric acid and boronic acids.

From our experience in the field of organic photo conductors (OPCs) and organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), we see a great opportunity in using Boronic acids to synthesize new and interesting compounds in the electronics field. As such, we are introducing our new line of Boronic Acid based building blocks to enhance the possibilities of your synthetic work.

Check With Us Often
Keep checking this website as we are continuously increasing the number of boronic acids and related derivatives to be made available. Researchers working in the opto-electronic field should keep us book marked for frequent visits as we will have a lot of compounds focused towards your industry.

Custom Synthesis
As always, our motto is, “If you don’t see it, ask!” Our custom synthesis department loves to take on challenges from our customers. If you don’t see a specific molecule you are in need of, please contact us for a custom synthesis quotation.
