OVDot^® are microscopic particles containing a variable code and holographic image originated in high resolution.  Applying AutoDot^® onto defined areas on a vehicle significantly increases the chance to identify stolen vehicles even if other identifiers have been illegally removed or tampered with.

The application is performed with a pressurized spray container containing acrylic lacquer with sispersed AutoDot^®.  The laquer also contains UV agent for easier identification of the marked areas.  One spray usually holds approximately 20,000 microparticles.  The variable code and holographic image can be simply verifed by using a hand held microscope.

AutoDot® OCIS is a vehicle identification and information system jointly developed by Metallic Security and systems integrator CEBIA, s.r.o. The system utilizes AutoDot® holographic microparticle markers in sprayable form. Each spray can contains twenty thousand of these suspended in a transparent lacquer. Each particle in a spray carries a six-digit number which is unique to each spraycan/ car, and a two-letter-country code. The lacquer contains a UV active substance which makes it easier for the police officer to find marked areas on a vehicle or vehicle part using special detectors. Further, the numbers on the particles can be read by a simple hand-held microscope magnifying 100 times.

Police, insurance and leasing companies all have access to the OCIS database. Insurance and leasing companies can check vehicle history in order to prevent insurance/leasing fraud. In case of theft, the police have much better chances of recovering the stolen vehicle, especially in case of border crossing, by inspecting AutoDot® identifiers and checking the vehicle's true identity via OCIS. When expanding AutoDot® OCIS to a new country, the system can either be sold as a bundle or AutoDot® can be offered separately to fit a customised national vehicle information system and database.

Further to OVDot® marking, tamper evident OVMetal™ labels provide instant permanent authentication of the marked vehicle.  The labels contain variable information identical with the code on AutoDot®, are tamper evident and will withstand mechanical wear and tear, environmental factors, heat and aggressive environment.

Data on marked vehicles can be stored either in a client database with access for government services and financial institutions or in a database provided by an Optaglio partner company.
